We’re delighted to introduce Megan, the newest member of the SeeKenya team, who has recently joined us as our administrator.
To help you get to know her a little better, we sat down with Megan for a quick interview...
Megan, tell us a bit about yourself.
Hi! I'm Megan — wife to Ben, mum to two lovely young daughters, and a member of The King’s Church Mid-Sussex for nearly eight years. I love a well-organised spreadsheet, thrive on a completed to-do list, and have a big heart for helping people reach their potential, whatever their background. I’m also a big fan of Italian food and love fun days out with my family!
Tell us more about your background.
I’ve worked in a variety of roles — from being an administrative assistant in a finance department to serving as an intern at a nearby church, and most recently supporting children at a local SEND school. Alongside that, I’ve also taken on several volunteer roles within the church, including life group leader and head of crèche. Each of these experiences has grown my love for people and sharpened my admin skills, and I’m excited to bring both to SeeKenya.
What drew you to SeeKenya?
As a glasses wearer myself, I know how vital good eye care is, and I can only begin to imagine the opportunities I may have missed out on without it. In the Bible, we’re called to care for the poor and to bring sight to the blind — both physically and spiritually — so it feels really special to be part of an organisation that’s doing exactly that. It reminds me that even the small, everyday tasks (and spreadsheets!) can play a part in something much bigger that God is doing.
What excites you most about working with SeeKenya?
What excites me most is the opportunity to be part of something that’s making such a real, tangible difference in people’s lives. SeeKenya isn’t just about providing eye care; it’s about bringing hope and restoration to people who may have struggled for years without access to something as simple, yet life-changing, as a pair of glasses or cataract surgery.
I’m also really excited to one day go on a clinic trip to Kenya myself — it’ll be so great to see it all in action!
We’re so pleased to have Megan on the SeeKenya team. Please join us in praying for her as she steps into this new role. Together, we're opening eyes to a better life.
